Canali

Canali was founded in 1934 in Triuggio, Brianza, by brothers Giovanni and Giacomo as a tailoring workshop producing men’s clothing. After World War II, the second generation—Giuseppe, Genesio and Eugenio Canali—restarted the business, and in 1953 Fratelli Canali S.p.A. and the Cafra brand were established. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the company shifted from raincoats and outerwear toward men’s tailored clothing. In 1974, it introduced an automatic cutting system that combined computer-controlled cutting with traditional tailoring methods. The third generation joined in the early 1980s, when the company began using the Canali brand name. Canali is an independent, family-run business in its third generation, with tailoring remaining central as it adapts through style innovation and technology. Its identity is associated with Italian sartorial culture, craftsmanship, Made in Italy and the Inner Beauty concept of empathy, kindness, care and respect. In 2024, its 90th anniversary included an anniversary capsule and a partnership with NABA on sculptural and AI-based digital works.
