Captain Fawcett's
Captain Fawcett's was established in 2010 by Richard Finney in Terrington St Clement, Norfolk, after he made moustache wax at home and produced an initial run of 100 jars. The project grew into a broader gentleman's grooming brand, with the fictional Edwardian explorer Captain Peabody Fawcett serving as its organizing figurehead and voice. The character's imagined adventures and archive of grooming formulas shape the brand's public identity, while Finney's interest in Boys' Own-style adventure influenced its correspondence, social media, packaging, and product design. Its fragrance story began with the first Signature Series collaboration, created with Ricki Hall. The resulting Booze & Baccy was presented as Hall's tribute to his father and is identified as a signature scent. In 2025, the fragrance reached its tenth anniversary and received a Highly Commended result in the Best Fragrance category at the Pure Beauty Global Awards.
