Carlos Campos
Carlos Campos is a New York-based fashion label shaped by designer Carlos Campos, who grew up in Honduras in a tailoring household, learned the trade from his father, moved to New York, and studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After incorporating Carlos Campos Inc. in 2006, Campos launched the namesake label in 2007, presenting its first collection for Fall 2007. The label’s early path included Broadway costume design, fashion consulting, and a collaboration with the Guido line; its first collection was named best menswear collection at Mexico Fashion Week in 2009. In 2010, Campos created Estancias for the New York City Ballet with Christopher Wheeldon and architect Santiago Calatrava, and in 2012 he became one of ten CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists. Its design language combines traditional tailoring with clean lines, architectural shapes, and an urban, modern attitude, including a 2018 New York Fashion Week collection inspired by Juan Gabriel and charro and mariachi references.
