Carolina Herrera

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Carolina Herrera moved with her family to New York in 1981 and formed Carolina Herrera, Ltd. after the positive reception of a 1980 test collection. The house became associated with polished, practical elegance, expressed through designs that combined formal glamour with everyday wearability. Its relationship with Puig dates to 1995, when the Spanish group acquired the Carolina Herrera New York fashion division. Puig’s history records the launch of the house’s first designer fragrance in 1988, followed by 212 by Carolina Herrera New York in 1997. In 2018, Herrera presented her final runway collection and handed the creative-director role to Wes Gordon, while continuing as a global brand ambassador. Gordon articulated a direction centered on the house’s Herrera DNA alongside an exuberant, joyful, colorful identity for contemporary women. Good Girl, launched in 2016, became one of the world’s most recognizable and best-selling fragrances, distinguished by a stiletto-shaped bottle and a duality that contrasts jasmine and tuberose with tonka and cacao. Later interpretations included Very Good Girl and Good Girl Blush.
