Carriere Freres
Created in 1884 by the Carrière brothers, Carrière Frères set out to modernize the inherited savoir-faire of French master candle makers. The brothers expanded candles beyond religious and functional use, developing decorative candles, tapers, and night-lights for tables and festive occasions. The house received a gold medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle and is presented as continuing the legacy of the Royal Wax Manufacture, now known as Trudon. Its creative identity is botanical, drawing on discoveries by botanists and explorers and organizing soliflore-style scents around herbs, roots, flowers, fruits, and woods. Each creation seeks to express a plant’s character while keeping the perfumer secondary to nature as the primary inspiration. La Rose aime la Menthe is among the brand’s highlighted icons. Carrière Frères is owned by the French company SAS CIR.
