Carrington Parfums
Carrington Parfums was launched in 1984 in association with Revlon, alongside Forever Krystle; both names were drawn from the television series Dynasty. Its wider corporate history is linked to the Charles of the Ritz business, which traces its origin to 1919, when Charles Jundt took over the beauty salon at New York’s Ritz-Carlton hotel and began marketing Charles of the Ritz cosmetics by 1926. Charles of the Ritz merged with Lanvin in 1964, was acquired by E.R. Squibb in 1971, and was purchased by Yves Saint Laurent in 1986. Carrington won The Fragrance Foundation’s 1986 Fragrance of the Year award in the Women’s Popular category for Charles of the Ritz. In 1987, Revlon bought the Carrington and Forever Krystle fragrance lines from a Yves Saint Laurent unit. In September 2001, Revlon acquired all assets and liabilities of the Charles of the Ritz business and contributed them to Revlon Products Corporation.
