Carven
Founded in Paris in 1945 by Marie-Louise Carven, born Carmen de Tommaso, the French fashion house opened its couture house at the Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées. Created to dress petite women, Carven later became associated with the development of ready-to-wear. The house designed airline uniforms beginning with Air India in 1965 and later including Air France in 1978, and introduced its first menswear line in 1968. In 2010, Groupe Bogart purchased Carven’s fragrance and cosmetic products. The fashion house was acquired by Icicle Fashion Group through insolvency proceedings approved by the Paris Commercial Court in October 2018; Icicle later became known as ICCF Group. From February 2023 until December 2024, Louise Trotter drew on Carven’s archive and developed practical, simple clothing focused on purpose. Carven’s fragrance history began with Ma Griffe in 1946, the house’s trademark fragrance associated with its green-and-white visual identity.
