Cavalera

Founded in 1995 by Alberto Hiar and Iggor Cavalera, Cavalera emerged at the intersection of music, fashion, art and street culture, with an early streetwear identity influenced by music and sport. The brand opened its first store in Santo André in 1997 and joined the official São Paulo Fashion Week calendar in 2001. In 2008, its winter presentation on the banks of the Tietê River served as an environmental protest focused on river pollution. In 2017, Cavalera presented a runway show built around sertanejo music, broadening its public cultural references beyond its original rock association. K2 Comércio de Confecções, identified as the brand’s owner, filed for judicial reorganization in 2021. After four years away from the fashion scene, Cavalera returned in 2024 under Alberto Hiar with a smaller structure, no company-owned stores, an e-commerce-centered strategy and a renewed streetwear direction. Its men’s grooming line began through barbershops in 2015, and its fragrance history includes Bay Rum, redesigned in 2021 with new fragrances and packaging while retaining the original line.
