Fragrance house
Cayla Gray
Cayla Gray was created by Kelly Kussman after two ectopic pregnancies, and named for the child she had planned to name; its founding idea was to transform grief and memory into fragrance. Kussman brought more than 17 years of corporate-retail experience in buying, project management, financial planning, sourcing, and production to the venture. The brand’s identity centers on transparent-ingredient fragrance, with every ingredient listed and scent framed as a form of personal storytelling. Its creative concept is a layering system rather than a single permanent signature, allowing wearers to create changing combinations. Petals, the debut fragrance, grew from Kussman’s attempt to recreate the remembered scent of clean laundry and jasmine. In 2026, Cayla Gray’s creative direction expanded toward fragrance as a wellness ritual, including Slumber, a functional wellness fragrance intended to support rest and wind-down.
