Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin established his business in Paris in 1991, beginning with women’s footwear before adding men’s shoes a few years later. The red lacquered sole emerged in 1992 and became the house’s defining visual signature. The brand later extended from footwear into handbags and small leather goods, launching Christian Louboutin Beauté in 2014. Its design identity brings together craftsmanship, fantasy, nostalgia, playfulness and sex, with glossy red soles serving as an instantly recognisable code. Christian Louboutin entered fragrance in 2016 with a trio of signature scents; by 2020, the Loubiworld collection comprised seven fragrances, without one identified as more prominent than the others. In 2018, Puig entered a long-term worldwide partnership covering the creation, development and distribution of the luxury beauty business. The house presented L’Exhibition[niste] in 2020, and in 2021 partnered with Exor while retaining an in-house design team responsible for creativity. For Men’s Fall/Winter 2026, Jaden Smith became Men’s Creative Director and presented his first collection through an exhibition connecting fashion, visual art, music and history.
