Chupa Chups
Chupa Chups began in Spain in 1958, when Enric Bernat created a round sweet on a stick and established the brand. The product was renamed CHUPS in 1960 and became Chupa Chups in 1963 after a jingle popularized the name. In 1969, Salvador Dalí shaped its visual identity by sketching the basis of the daisy-shaped logo. The brand expanded internationally during the 1970s, with sales recorded in 164 countries by 1990. Bernat relinquished formal control to his children in 1991, while the business remained family-run. Chupa Chups is currently under Perfetti Van Melle. Its fragrance story began with a Coty licence agreed in 2001; the I Love Me range launched in 2003 with three scents and candy-inspired packaging aimed at teenagers. In 2005, I Love Me had sold more than 1.5 million products, and Coty introduced Love Trap as a follow-up line.
