Cigno Nero

Cigno Nero Milano was founded in 2013 by Giorgio Biella and Emilia Armida Chinigò. The brand is one of Niche & Co’s Made-in-Italy artistic-perfumery brands, with Chinigò described as its creative and fragrance designer and Biella as entrepreneur; Niche & Co is identified as its parent company. Its black swan symbol represents rarity, atypicality, and an unconventional identity. The 2020 fragrance collection established Cigno Nero’s perfume identity around mythical and magical creatures, including Pegasus, the Phoenix, mermaids, dragons, and unicorns, with fragrance presented as a symbolic personal talisman linked to virtue or inner strength. The collection’s fragrances were created in collaboration with Arturetto Landi, Luca Maffei, Cristian Calabrò, and Giovanni Festa. A 2024 profile identified Araba Fenice and Dolce Canto as worldwide best sellers. Blu Divino was launched at Esxence as a new fragrance, with Arturetto Landi as perfumer, extending the mythological concept toward the sea.
