CJ Scents

CJ Scents is an American independent perfumery founded by Candice Jurko. Jurko began blending fragrances in 2005 after she could not find a particular scent, sharing her blends through Makeup Alley swaps before formally opening the brand in 2008 after gaining sufficient interest. She has identified Laurie Erickson of Sonoma Scent Studio as an early influence who helped her solve formulation problems, and has described an intention to support other independent perfumers in turn. The brand’s creative identity centers on combining gourmand elements in unexpected ways, with rose among the notes Jurko uses often; Sandalwood Fig, Sweet Memories, Titania, and Vanilla Autumn Nights were among the fragrances she selected as representative of her work. In 2014, CJ Scents participated in the Peace-Love-Perfume Project with Perfume, created around the project’s “Perfume” element and credited to Jurko. Its current independent, customizable model includes parfum sprays, perfume oils, seasonal limited editions, scent-bar formats, and the option to discuss custom scents with the maker.
