Clayeux
Clayeux is a French children’s-fashion brand associated with the Montceau-les-Mines region, with an identity built around color and knitwear know-how for children from birth to about 14. Its founding date is unresolved, with contemporary accounts placing its creation in either 1953 or 1981. After Clayeux and several group companies entered judicial reorganization in July 2008 following cash-flow difficulties and failed bank negotiations, the Chalon-sur-Saône Commercial Court selected Avance Diffusion’s offer in March 2011 to take over the children’s-clothing business and brand assets. Clayeux also developed a fragrance extension: Millennium Fragrances created and launched the perfumes in 2004, drawing on the clothing collections. The children’s line included Clayeux Boy, a fresh, lemony eau de toilette, and Clayeux Girl, a citrus-and-jasmine eau de toilette. Millennium Fragrances is listed as the rights holder associated with Parfums Clayeux, while Création Beauté International records its integration with Clayeux among licensed children’s brands.
