Coco De Mer Cosmetics

Coco De Mer Cosmetics traces its origins to Island Scent Pty Ltd, established in Seychelles in 2000 as a distillery producing essential oils from endemic plants. After discovering a distinctive aroma in the husks of the Coco de Mer palm, the company undertook roughly two years of research with universities and Italian cosmetic laboratories before developing cosmetics and perfume. The brand’s identity is tied to Seychelles’ Coco de Mer palm and the use of naturally fallen nuts, with harvesting conducted in cooperation with Seychelles authorities and conservation interests; proceeds are reinvested in protecting the forests where the palm grows. Island Scent owns the brand and is owned by Dr. Silvana Bisogni Bonne and Patrick H. Bonne. Its fragrance line uses an extract of the husk aroma as its basis, and the Coco de Mer Collection launched in the United States in 2025 as a five-fragrance collection.
