Collistar
Founded in Milan in 1983, Collistar began as the cosmetics division of Italian pharmaceutical company Zambeletti and was associated from the outset with Italian scientific research. It became part of Bolton Group in 1993. During its early development, the brand introduced a compact bronzing powder and single-dose capsule treatments, then launched what Vanity Fair describes as Italy’s first beauty-sector website in 1996. Its identity brings together Italian beauty, research, innovation, and simple, essential solutions. In the 2020s, that research positioning developed into “Clean Research,” emphasizing skin compatibility, selected Italian ingredients, and environmental consideration. In 2023, Bolton marked Collistar’s 40th anniversary with a celebration of its Italian beauty identity, sustainability approach, and established products. In 2025, Collistar described a return to its Milanese origins and a more essential, authentic, spontaneous approach to beauty. Its fragrance legacy is most clearly expressed through Profumo di Benessere, an aromatherapy collection centered on the effects of essential oils.
