Fragrance house
Commune
Commune launched on 21 June 2022, the summer solstice, as a self-care brand founded by husband-and-wife fashion professionals Rémi Paringaux and Kate Neal. After returning from Vancouver to the Somerset countryside during the first lockdown, the couple drew on the experience of close village community for the brand’s name and concept. Based around Somerset, Commune combines references to nature, community, British Gothic forms, English folklore, and intentional design; its visual language includes an eclipse-like circular mark, reusable metal pump, and aluminium packaging designed around functional and environmental goals. Its first and signature fragrance, Seymour, launched with the 2022 collection and was used across its initial body, bath, and hair offering, expressing a Somerset-centered spring landscape through citrus, herbs, florals, galbanum, hiba wood, and cypress. The brand opened a Bruton store in 2023 that also supports perfumery workshops and community activity, and expanded into home fragrance in 2024. In August 2026, it unveiled Montague, its second scent collection, scheduled for October 2026.
