Coqui Coqui

Coqui Coqui Perfumeria was founded in 2003 by Argentine perfumer Nicolás Malleville. The brand began in the Yucatán region after Malleville created a small hotel in Tulum and developed scents inspired by local nature; that year, he met Francesca Bonato, and they subsequently built Coqui Coqui together. The house later evolved from perfumery into a lifestyle concept combining residences, spas, boutiques, and design, with fragrance remaining a central element. Its creative identity draws on travel, exploration, Yucatán landscapes, botanical research, and scents intended to evoke regional places and memories. Malleville is the principal perfumer and has also worked on architecture, while Bonato-Malleville has directed commercial strategy and artistic direction. The three partners—Malleville, Bonato-Malleville, and Matías González—intended in 2024 to keep the brand independent with family assistance. That year, Coqui Coqui partnered with H&M HOME on a home-design collection that included two newly created scents. Tabaco is among the house’s best-selling scents.
