Courrèges
Founded in 1961 by André and Coqueline Courrèges, the house established its public identity through structured, geometric designs and a futuristic language of movement, light, color, and simplified forms. Its 1964 “Space Age” collection brought that vision into A-line and mini-length garments, astronaut-inspired accessories, and bright or silver colors; in 1967, André Courrèges created “Couture Future” to make garments available to more women while retaining haute-couture quality. The Courrèges family sold the brand in 2011 to Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting, and Artémis became its majority shareholder in 2018. Nicolas Di Felice, appointed artistic director in 2020, presented his first collection in 2021; during his tenure, the house restored its original logo, reissued space-age pieces, and combined archival references with club-culture influences and body-conscious styling. Di Felice left in March 2026, with Artémis announcing Drew Henry as his successor, effective May 2026. In fragrance, Empreinte, launched in 1971 as Courrèges’s first fragrance and identified as its emblematic perfume, was reintroduced in a contemporary version in 2021.
