Couvent Des Minimes
Couvent des Minimes was created in 2004 by the L’Occitane group and was associated with a site in Mane, Provence, drawing on stories of 19th-century nuns, plant-based colognes, and beneficial skincare recipes. Its current identity connects the brand to Le Couvent des Minimes, a southern French site founded in 1614 where Louis Feuillée, botanist to Louis XIV, lived. After a 2017 acquisition, the brand was completely restructured and repositioned as a French vegan high-perfumery brand with fragrances and two skincare lines. Its creative concept draws on Feuillée’s botanical explorations, narratives, drawings, and navigation charts, combining botanical history, art, and fragrance. Jean-Claude Ellena is the brand’s stated olfactory creative guide and developed its new chapters with a selected team of French perfumers. Botanical colognes are a core perfume collection, including Aqua Minimes, a citrus-woody fragrance inspired by the Jardin des Hespérides and credited to Ellena’s creation concept.
