Crabtree & Evelyn
Crabtree & Evelyn traces its beginnings to 1971, when founder Cy Harvey’s small Soap Box shop sold distinctive soaps collected during his travels. The venture grew from travel- and nature-inspired soaps into a global business built around beauty products, lifestyle accessories, and stories from around the world. Kuala Lumpur Kepong acquired the brand in 1996, and Nan Hai acquired it in 2016; restructuring under the new ownership included brand remodeling and new-product development. In 2019, Crabtree & Evelyn closed its existing physical-store network, discontinued its existing products, and relaunched around a digitally driven business model under the identity “Born curious. Grown wild.” In fragrance, Evelyn Rose is identified as a signature scent and collection. Its original rose was linked to rosarian David Austin, who named a rose for the brand, while the later Evelyn Rose relaunch was presented as a reinvention of that historical collection.
