Cristóbal

Cristóbal is a fragrance project inspired by a 2022 reading at a summer picnic in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. The collection is the work of Cristóbal Valencia, a self-trained perfumer whose creative identity draws on 1970s tea dances, queer liberation, and radical faerie utopias. The fragrance is genderless and inclusive, while the collection focuses on personal narratives, experimental concepts, high proportions of naturals, and limited-release capsules. Cristóbal is described as a new fragrance brand, with its first listed fragrance released in 2023. Its fragrances are handmade and made by gays, and support queer and Latinx business while being vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and skin-safe. Gay Juice is the brand’s only recorded perfume and was launched in 2023; its many iterations produced a fruity-floral composition that expresses Cristóbal’s stated olfactory concept.
