Fragrance house
Daniel Barros
Associated with Brazil and São Paulo, Daniel Barros redirected his career toward fragrance after working in international business and pursuing formal fragrance study, building on a childhood interest in perfumery. In 2013, he founded the olfactory consultancy Ego In Vitro, which helped people find fragrances according to their style and personality. His creative path extended from fragrance consulting and writing into perfume making, following experiments with accords and raw materials and feedback from friends and colleagues. From 2015 onward, he worked as a fragrance creator and contributed to L’Officiel and Fragrantica; in 2021, he consolidated his fragrance writing in the guide 1001 Perfumes. His first complete fragrance line, the Barista Collection, was released in 2016 around drinks and cocktails, linking recognizable beverages with fragrance accords and themes. It comprised 12 scents and is currently labeled discontinued.
