Daniel Hechter

Daniel Hechter created the brand in Paris in 1962, launching its first womenswear collection. It added kidswear in 1965 and menswear in 1968, developing toward a complete wardrobe. Its design identity was associated with sporty daily wear and with adapting sportswear and casual streetwear for everyday fashion. In 1973, Hechter became involved with Paris Saint-Germain and designed the club’s distinctive striped home jersey; the stripe is identified as an enduring influence on the brand’s visual identity and sporting orientation. The first Daniel Hechter Sport Collection followed in 1975. Miltenberger Otto Aulbach GmbH acquired the brand in 1998, purchasing its worldwide trademark rights, including clothing lines and licensing rights. The brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2012 with a campaign photographed by Peter Lindbergh. In 2023, Daniel Hechter Paris changed its name to HECHTER PARIS.
