Debbie Gibson
Debbie Gibson is an American singer, songwriter, producer, musician, actor, and entrepreneur whose public identity is rooted in entertainment. She broke through at 16 with the self-written “Only In My Dreams,” then in 1988, at 17, became the youngest artist to write, produce, and perform a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single with “Foolish Beat,” a Guinness World Records milestone. Her 1989 album Electric Youth and the single “Lost in Your Eyes” both reached No. 1, and Electric Youth became a central part of her pop-era identity. Gibson later moved into musical theater, including Broadway’s Les Misérables, as well as roles in Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Funny Girl, Cinderella, and Cabaret. In 2016, she created, executive produced, and starred in Hallmark’s Summer of Dreams; in 2021, she released The Body Remembers on her own Stargirl Records label. Her fragrance legacy is tied to Electric Youth, launched in collaboration with Revlon in 1989 and sharing its name with the No. 1 album; later coverage describes the perfume as no longer in production.
