Diane Pernet

Diane Pernet is a Paris-based, American-born fashion journalist, critic, curator, and talent scout. After thirteen years as a fashion designer in New York, she relocated to Paris around 1990, where she worked in costume design, journalism, and fashion editing. In 2005, she launched A Shaded View on Fashion, an online platform that was among the early influential fashion blogs. She developed the fashion-film program You Wear It Well in 2006; it evolved into A Shaded View on Fashion Film, first presented at Paris’s Jeu de Paume in 2008. The project became a recurring international platform for fashion film, with screenings, competitions, and related artistic programming. Pernet’s creative work brings together fashion journalism and criticism, digital media, curation, photography, filmmaking, and the relationship between fashion and moving image. In 2014, she launched a perfume line with Intertrade Group, creating an initial four-fragrance collection intended to translate aspects of her personal style and persona into scent.
