DIME Beauty was founded in 2018 by Master Esthetician Baylee Relf and her husband, Ryan Relf; Mitch Casey is also identified as a co-founder. DIME developed from its founders’ skincare focus into a brand spanning skincare, body care, fragrance, and beauty and wellness, with an emphasis on clean ingredients, ingredient transparency, and skin health. It entered fragrance at the end of 2020 with skin-centered, hypoallergenic perfumes using organic sugar-cane alcohol and purified water. In 2022, Trilantic North America invested in DIME, changing it from a solely founder-funded business into one backed by a private-equity investor. Its fragrance merchandising identifies 7 Summers and Dans Les Bois as its two top clean, bestselling scents; 7 Summers has been described as a viral fragrance and associated with sales of approximately one bottle every four minutes.
