Dixit & Zak

Dixit & Zak was created by chemical engineer Nitish Dixit and Zakir Laskar, whose partnership combines scientific perfumery with traditional Indian fragrance experience. Laskar dates his co-founder work to 2018, while independent coverage places their public collaboration in 2019. Their creative identity brings modern perfumery together with Indian fragrance traditions and rare local materials. The brand’s first public release, Rising Mysore, appeared in 2019, followed by Rising Mysore 2 in 2020, Rising Mysore 3 in 2021, and a Rising Mysore extrait in 2023. In 2022, Dixit & Zak Fragrances Private Limited was incorporated in Pune, with Dixit and Laskar recorded as directors; the company was listed as active on 6 November 2025. In 2023, the pair also released Oud Berry and Persian Musk. That October, Laskar said a proposed use of Ahom World’s rare materials within Dixit & Zak had been abandoned over financial and creative-alliance concerns, with the parties pursuing opportunities independently. Rising Mysore is the clearest documented fragrance example: the 2023 extrait was described as the first extrait in the Rising series and a continuation of its concept.
