Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana was founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who have remained its principal creative and stylistic sources while directing the brand’s growth. Its identity brings together Italian craftsmanship and sartorial tradition with Mediterranean culture, an innovative instinct, and irony; the brand expanded its high-craftsmanship activities with the realization of Alta Moda in 2012. Dolce & Gabbana introduced its first women’s fragrance in 1992. On June 30, 2016, the brand and Shiseido signed a worldwide exclusive license covering development, manufacturing, and distribution of its fragrance, makeup, and skincare lines, with the collaboration scheduled to begin on October 1; the agreement transferred beauty operations by license rather than selling the fashion house itself. Light Blue is described as one of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s most emblematic pillars and an icon, while Light Blue Pour Homme won The Fragrance Foundation’s 2008 Fragrance of the Year – Men’s Prestige award.
