Dragonball Z

Dragon Ball Z grew from Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga, which began serialization in 1984, into an anime that began broadcasting in 1989. A sequel to the 1986–1989 Dragon Ball anime, it adapts the manga’s final 325 chapters alongside additional anime material. Its story later continued through Dragon Ball Z Kai and films including Battle of Gods, Resurrection ’F’, Super: Broly, and Super: SUPER HERO. In 2024, the franchise introduced Dragon Ball DAIMA, for which Toriyama was credited with the original work, story, and character designs. Toriyama died on March 1, 2024.
