Dries Van Noten

Founded in Antwerp in 1986, Dries Van Noten was established by Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, who graduated from Belgium’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1981 and launched his first menswear collection that year. He emerged internationally as one of the Antwerp Six, the Belgian collective that presented in London in the mid-1980s. The house made its Paris Fashion Week menswear debut in 1991 and presented womenswear on the Paris runway in 1993. Its creative language is associated with fabric-led design, color, prints, embroidery, and combinations of contrasting references. Van Noten received the Council of Fashion Designers of America International Award in 2008, while the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris presented “Inspirations,” a retrospective exploring the sources of his collections, in 2014. He collaborated with Christian Lacroix on the Spring/Summer 2020 womenswear collection. In 2022, the house launched a beauty line with 12 gender-fluid fragrances. Soie Malaquais received the Fragrance Foundation UK award for best design and packaging. After Van Noten presented his final collection as Creative Director in June 2024, Julian Klausner was appointed to the role in December and presented his first women’s runway collection in March 2025.
