Dunhill
Established in London in 1893, Dunhill began when 21-year-old Alfred Dunhill inherited his father’s equestrian saddlery and harness business. He redirected it toward accessories for the emerging motorcar era, making motoring innovation a lasting part of the brand’s history. Dunhill’s identity brings together English style heritage, British craftsmanship, masculine luxury, and a balance of tradition and modernity. In 1993, Richemont created Vendôme Luxury Group after separating its luxury-goods maisons from Rothmans; Alfred Dunhill was among the maisons included. In April 2023, Dunhill appointed Simon Holloway as creative director. His debut collection, presented at London Fashion Week in the National Portrait Gallery, drew on English style codes, the Motorities heritage, and the 1893 Harness leather-goods history. Dunhill’s fragrance legacy includes Icon, launched in 2015 as a woody aromatic connected with English classicism and British motoring; it received a GQ Grooming Award.
