Dusita
Dusita is an independent fragrance house founded in Paris in 2016 by Thai self-taught perfumer Pissara “Ploi” Umavijani. Born and raised in Bangkok, Pissara moved to Paris in 2011, drawn by an early fascination with French perfumery. After seeing her first compositions, Mélodie de l’Amour and Issara, Jovoy founder François Hénin encouraged her to establish a fragrance brand. Dusita’s creative identity brings together Pissara’s Thai cultural background and her admiration for French perfumery; its perfumes are conceived as olfactory tributes to the poetry of her father, Montri Umavijani. The house received a Brand of the Year award in 2016, followed by fragrance awards for Mélodie de l’Amour in 2017, Erawan in 2018, and Le Pavillon d’Or in 2019. Issara, Pissara’s first fragrance creation, was conceived around her experience of freedom and was reported in 2020 as Dusita’s most successful fragrance in France, while La Douceur de Siam was its international number one at that time.
