EastWest Bottlers
EastWest Bottlers debuted in 2011, founded by Matt Moore, Colin Newberry, and Charlie Holderness, former University of Georgia fraternity brothers who remained close after graduation. Based in Austin, Texas, the privately owned brand emphasizes small-batch processing, homegrown business practices, and Southern values, positioning its products as alternatives to celebrity-led and major-brand offerings. The founders shaped the brand around a scent intended to express their idea of Southern gentlemen and respond to a fragrance market they felt had shifted toward celebrity names or less masculine positioning. Its first fragrance was created with the Gallimard perfume house in Grasse. Moonshine debuted in 2011 as the brand’s signature fragrance, with a profile described through leather, tobacco, gin, patchouli, and black pepper. EastWest Bottlers later introduced Bluegrass and Speakeasy, a Moonshine-inspired women’s perfume made in response to customer demand, followed by Sportsman in 2019.
