Fragrance house
Eau de Space
Eau de Space emerged as a public fragrance project through a Kickstarter campaign launched in 2020. Its concept grew from chemist Steve Pearce’s work recreating the reported smell associated with astronauts returning from spacewalks; Pearce began developing an Earth-based equivalent after exchanging emails with a NASA scientist in 2008. The brand’s identity centers on translating astronaut-reported space experiences into scent and using fragrance as a STEM education tool. Its original fragrance, Eau de Space, is based on those reported astronaut experiences, while the campaign later extended the concept with Eau de Luna, a lunar-dust fragrance offered as a stretch goal.
