Elemis
Elemis is a British spa and skincare brand founded in London in 1989; L’Occitane describes its launch as taking place in 1990. Its founding group comprised Linda Steiner, Sean Harrington, Oriele Frank and Noella Gabriel. The brand’s identity brings together nature, science, biotechnology, touch, texture and scent, with its origins in the spa. After Steiner Leisure acquired Elemis in 1996, the remaining founders assumed full management, and the brand was reworked and relaunched with new branding and packaging in 1998. Elemis launched Pro-Collagen Marine Cream in 2003 and patented Tri-Enzyme Technology in 2006. L’Occitane International announced its acquisition of Elemis in January 2019, with completion in March that year; Elemis became a wholly owned subsidiary of the group. In 2023, it achieved B Corp certification as an operationally independent L’Occitane subsidiary.
