Elixir Attar

Elixir Attar is a U.S.-founded perfume brand associated with Egyptian-born perfumer Ahmed Mostafa, whose early exposure to incense, oud, and Indian-spice-market scents came from growing up in Abu Dhabi in the 1980s. After studying materials science and engineering, working as an engineer, and serving as a diplomat from 2012 to 2017, Mostafa pursued perfumery professionally from 2018; the brand launched in 2019. Its identity brings together traditional attar practice, oil-perfume construction, natural materials, chemistry-informed blending, and the sourcing of rare or difficult-to-find raw materials. Mostafa is the owner and perfumer, and his work has included bespoke perfume design, extensive experimentation with natural materials, and initiatives focused on agarwood science and ancient rare perfumery materials. Elixir Attar’s fragrance identity centers on attar and oil compositions with recurring emphasis on oud and incense. Its smoke series examines agarwood and kinam or kyara smoke through molecular analysis: Dark Matter was the first release and sold out in a few days, followed by Kinam Kodo.
