Elizabeth Arden

Elizabeth Arden began in 1910, when Florence Nightingale Graham opened her first salon at 509 Fifth Avenue in New York and adopted the Elizabeth Arden name. She shaped the business around a concept of total beauty that brought together salon treatments, skincare, cosmetics and, later, perfumes. In 1916–17, the brand introduced a full skincare and color-cosmetics line, followed by Eight Hour Cream in 1930. Its public identity has long been linked to scientific skincare formulation, beauty innovation and red-door salons associated with the Elizabeth Arden name. The Red Door fragrance, launched in 1989, was inspired by the namesake salon and is described as a signature scent. After successive ownership changes, Revlon agreed to acquire Elizabeth Arden in June 2016; the transaction closed on September 7, making the brand a wholly owned subsidiary of Revlon Consumer Products Corporation.
