Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Taylor’s fragrance brand began in 1987, when Taylor released Passion, combining an interest in fine fragrance with entrepreneurship. Passion won the Fragrance Foundation’s Most Successful Women’s Fragrance award in 1988 and marked her first major fragrance licensing agreement. Taylor took an unusually hands-on role in the collection’s creative development, working with master perfumers and overseeing the scents, bottles, and packaging. In the 1990s, she coined House of Taylor as the name for her fragrance and jewelry brands. White Diamonds, launched in 1991, became the brand’s defining fragrance; Taylor drew on her love of diamonds and her life experiences in creating it, and it has been an international best seller since launch. In 2016, Revlon completed its acquisition of Elizabeth Arden, bringing Elizabeth Taylor among the acquired fragrance brands; the trademark is described in Revlon filings as licensed within the Elizabeth Arden segment. Today, estate trustees oversee Taylor’s name and likeness, while House of Taylor continues the fragrance collection in partnership with Revlon. In 2026, the collection introduced White Diamonds Icon, a new interpretation of White Diamonds, with perfumers Carlos Benaïm and Natasha Côté-Mouzannar credited for its creation.
