Emilio Pucci

Emilio Pucci founded the brand bearing his name in 1947 and opened its first boutique in Capri in 1950. The house developed from his work on Swiss ski slopes and his adoption of American sportswear, comfort-focused garments, fluid materials, and vivid prints. Its signature visual language combines pure lines, strong color, geometric and psychedelic patterns, and fluid jersey, while the Marilyn dress exemplified Pucci’s portable, movement-oriented approach and became an international success. His creative work also reached beyond fashion, including NASA’s Apollo 15 mission patch and a mid-1960s redesign project for Braniff Airways. After Pucci’s death in 1992, his daughter Laudomia and wife Cristina guided the company; Laudomia assumed design duties and drew on the house archive as a continuing creative source. On September 1, 2021, Camille Miceli became Artistic Director. In fragrance, Vivara, introduced in 1965, is a green chypre credited to perfumer Michel Hy and associated with Mediterranean sun and Pucci’s distinctive style.
