Emily In Paris

Emily in Paris originated as a scripted romantic-comedy series created, written, and executive produced by Darren Star; Netflix announced its exclusive release in July 2020. Centered on an American marketing professional’s life in Paris, the series combines work, friendships, romance, and fashion. Its visual identity was initially shaped by costume designer Patricia Field, while by the third season Marylin Fitoussi was the sole costume designer, guiding a softer palette and more French-influenced silhouettes alongside combinations of established, emerging, vintage, and accessible labels. In season four, the fictional world expanded to Rome and the French Alps, with Star citing an international, sophisticated Old Hollywood romantic-comedy sensibility. Emily in Paris is an entertainment franchise rather than an independent fragrance house, and its licensed fragrance collection was announced in August 2024 through a partnership between Paramount Consumer Products and Michel Germain Parfums. On August 7, 2025, Paramount Global and Skydance Media completed their merger, making Paramount Global a wholly owned subsidiary of Paramount Skydance Corporation, with the Ellison family as Paramount’s controlling stockholder and ultimate parent.
