English Laundry
English Laundry was launched by designer Christopher Wicks in 2000 with woven shirts. Wicks is identified as the brand’s founder, designer, and creative force, drawing on his Manchester background, fashion, and music. The label evolved from an elaborate shirt line into a lifestyle brand spanning apparel, accessories, and fragrances, with designs shaped by English stripes, plaids, solid poplins, and references to the 1960s and 1970s. English Laundry entered fragrance in 2010 with Arrogant, its first men’s Eau de Toilette. The fragrance line extends Wicks’s fashion direction into scent, translating the brand’s British-inspired sartorial identity into another medium.
