Ensar Oud

Ensar Oud began in New York City in 2004 under the name Oriscent, then officially adopted its current name in 2012 after encountering copycat problems. Founded by Ensar Gül, the house is shaped by his creative direction and collaborations with specialist distillers in Asia. Its identity centers on origin-specific, artisanal oud, with attention to the particular agarwood tree, its soil, distillation, the quality of the wood, and aging. In 2011, it launched an Organic Oud mission focused on cultivated agarwood amid concerns about depletion of wild resources. In October 2014, the first official EO OudFest took place in London, Birmingham, and Dubai. Ensar Oud is an independent artisanal house especially known for natural oud oils rather than a single mass-market signature fragrance. Oud Royale, a 1982 release, was the first bottle issued from the late Sultan Qaboos of Oman’s oud treasury. The house has also extended its work into artisanal perfumes and other natural aromatic materials while retaining oud as its core focus.
