Eric Buterbaugh

After leaving the fashion industry in 1998 and settling in Los Angeles, Eric Buterbaugh began arranging flowers for friends’ events, developing the work into a professional floral-design practice. His signature approach centered on the reflexed open rose, which he called a “power flower.” In 2015, Buterbaugh and fragrance professional Fabrice Croisé founded Eric Buterbaugh Florals, translating his floral-art practice into perfumes inspired by flowers and developed with Firmenich perfumers. Puig became a minority shareholder in 2016, expanded its participation in 2018, and became the brand’s principal shareholder. In 2019, the former EB Florals identity was relaunched as Eric Buterbaugh Los Angeles to encompass Buterbaugh’s broader creative work, with redesigned floral packaging and new fragrances. The brand’s fragrance portfolio includes floral and oud compositions. By 2020, Saffron Oud was identified as the line’s number-one fragrance, while the oud fragrances were performing strongly.
