Ermenegildo Zegna

In 1910, Ermenegildo Zegna founded Il Lanificio, a wool mill in Trivero in northern Italy’s Biellese Alps. The business evolved from textile production into luxury menswear, combining textile quality with international sourcing, export, community investment, and environmental stewardship. During the second half of the twentieth century, it expanded into services such as Su Misura, grew into a global brand, and remained a family business. The Ermenegildo Zegna Group acquired a majority stake in Thom Browne in 2018. After a business combination closed on December 17, 2021, the company became Ermenegildo Zegna N.V. and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. That December, the brand introduced a new logo, consolidated its naming around Zegna, and adopted the 232 Road mark inspired by the route through Oasi Zegna. Under artistic director Alessandro Sartori, its creative direction connected contemporary luxury leisurewear with tailoring, practicality, versatility, and textile heritage. Zegna’s fragrance history includes a first men’s cologne in the 1990s and the 2012 Essenze collection. Its fragrance identity is represented by Memorie, a six-fragrance collection shaped by places and objects associated with the founder, Oasi Zegna, craftsmanship, and family history.
