Erox

Erox was founded in California in 1989 by David Berliner as a consumer-products company developing and marketing products containing human pheromones or pheromone-like compounds. Its first venture was Realm, a paired fragrance for men and women. Erox’s public identity centered on fragrances incorporating synthetic human-pheromone compounds and presenting fragrance as a mood- or attraction-related consumer product. On May 29, 1998, the company changed its name from EROX Corporation to Human Pheromone Sciences, Inc. In 2003, Human Pheromone Sciences sold the assets and worldwide ownership rights of the Realm Women, Realm Men, and inner Realm lines, including their trademarks. In 2011, it agreed to transfer Erox’s brand assets, trademark, and domain to CrowdGather Inc., while licensing technology used in an EROX fragranced product. That transaction positioned Erox as a unisex fragrance associated with online communities and social media, incorporating the ER303 compound alongside pheromone compounds.
