Esse Strikes

Esse Strikes the Notes is an Italian fragrance brand founded by Roberta Cerizza in 2018 after her work in the family fragrance business Profumitalia. Its heritage reaches back to 1946, when Aurelio Cerizza opened his first essences laboratory; the enterprise later involved his five children and grandchildren. Conceived, made, and produced in Italy, the brand brings that family background into dialogue with Italian fashion, design, and Made in Italy elegance, pairing tradition with contemporary eccentricity. Its fragrance world is organized around “S.”, a fictional Italian woman or muse whose memories, emotions, and character are interpreted through scents named for women; the first collection presented in 2018 included Donatella, Miranda, Priscilla, and Anita. Profumitalia is listed as the brand’s parent company. In 2025, Rock ’n’ Salt and Vanilla Circus were the brand’s first unisex fragrances, both part of the Private Collection, marking an expansion from its earlier series of feminine creations.
