Essenzialmente Laura

Essenzialmente Laura is the fragrance brand Laura Bosetti Tonatto named in 2012, after the loss of her previous company, brand, and identity following her divorce. Tonatto, who has created perfumes and bespoke mélanges since 1986, is the brand’s central perfumer and creative figure. Its fragrances are made by hand in Italy through a creative method combining French and Oriental perfumery traditions, while its olfactory identity connects perfume with art, culture, historical places, literature, spirituality, and sensory memory. In September 2020, the Vatican Museums commissioned Tonatto to create a collection inspired by their masterpieces; in May 2021, LVMH requested Essential Memories, a series of olfactory interpretations of Italian Belmond hotels and their distinctive places. Tonatto also created a bespoke collection for Queen Elizabeth II, who selected four of twelve submitted creations. Four fragrances dedicated to Rome’s Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore followed in July 2024, and in October 2025 the brand created an exclusive bespoke fragrance representing Italy at Casa Italia, the Italian Embassy complex in London.
