Estoras
Estoras was founded by Paul-Anton Esterházy as a fragrance brand inspired by his grandfather, Prince Antal Esterházy, and by a travel perfume bottle associated with Antal’s 1926 Sahara expedition. That crossing, undertaken with Count László Almásy in a standard road car, forms the brand’s historical starting point. The name uses the Latin form of Esterházy and presents the house as a contemporary translation of Austro-Hungarian heritage. Its visual identity draws on 1920s Viennese Secession and Art Deco, with references to the Wiener Werkstätte, the former Steyr logo, and the family crest. Estoras’s first fragrance, Antal, dates to 2022 and is described as its signature scent and as a personal homage to Esterházy’s grandfather. The original project developed into olfactory stories drawn from Almásy’s travel diary and the Sahara adventures; by 2025, fragrances were recorded in collaboration with Marie Urban Le Febvre and Zsolt Zólyomi.
