Etro

Founded in Milan in 1968 by Gerolamo “Gimmo” Etro as a textile company, Etro grew from a practice rooted in travel, cultural collecting, textile experimentation, and an archive and library of fabrics, books, and objects. In 1981, Gerolamo Etro introduced the Paisley pattern, which became the fashion house’s signature design and a central marker of its identity. The brand moved into home furnishings in 1985, fragrances in 1989, and men’s and women’s fashion toward the end of the decade. Its public creative identity combines Paisley and travel-inspired patterns with Italian craftsmanship and a family-developed “New Tradition” that brings historical references together with contemporary experimentation. In fragrance, Etro’s signature lines extend from Shantung to Paisley. Rajasthan connects its cultural imagery and paisley-printed bottle to the brand’s signature print and DNA. In February 2024, Coty announced a long-term agreement covering Etro’s perfumes, fragrances, and home scent collections beyond 2040.
